The Society of Collision Repair Specialists announced Tuesday it would launch an annual “Red Carpet” awards event with this year’s SEMA Week.

The organization, which also hosts the popular Repairer Driven Education series during the November automotive megashow, encouraged industry groups to apply for a chance to present during the inaugural Collision Industry Red Carpet Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

“The event will feature selected awards that highlight standout individuals and businesses in the collision repair industry,” SCRS wrote in a flyer available at Tuesday’s Collision Industry Conference.

I-CAR, Body Shop Business and SCRS itself have already committed to present some of the groups’ elite honors at the show. Body Shop Business will announce its Executive of the Year title, and I-CAR will reveal the winners of its Russ Verona, Jeff Silver and Chairman’s honors. SCRS has not yet revealed the title or focus of its upcoming award.

Companies or organizations wishing to present their own awards at the show should email info@scrs.com with a description of the honor. SCRS will limit the number of awards and a host committee will evaluate applicants for approval to prevent the event from becoming diluted.

“Our focus, again, is keeping it as probably one of the industry’s most premiere events recognizing the standout individuals in this industry who are driving it forward and worthy of recognition,” SCRS Executive Director Aaron Schulenburg said during the group’s open board meeting Monday.

If you’d like to attend the free awards breakfast, RSVP here no later than Sept. 30. Attendance is limited to 200 seats, first-come, first-served. The event will be held 7:30-9 a.m. in Ballrooms D-E of the Westgate Las Vegas adjacent to the SEMA Show.

SCRS is also seeking fellow event sponsors. Contact Schulenburg at aaron@scrs.com if your business or group is interested.

“As a founding organization of what will be an annual event, SCRS is seeking other entities who place a priority on encouraging and recognizing greatness in individuals, companies and actions in the collision repair industry,” it wrote in the flyer. “There are options available for companies that wish to contribute and be recognized as a supporter of the event.”
