Repairify, the company doing business under the asTech brand, announced Tuesday it had purchased European diagnostics and calibration provider Red Autocenters and scanning and calibration equipment distributor Red Limited.

It will consolidate both purchased companies into a single subsidiary, to be known as Red EU.

Red Limited CEO Martin Brown will remain on as technical director of Repairify Innovations.

“The merger between Red and Repairify will provide tremendous value and benefits to all our of our Red global customers,” Brown said in a statement. “Red customers will benefit from having access to a complete portfolio of world class tools, products, and services rapidly being integrated under the Repairify global solutions platform.”

Asked if the Dunstable, United Kingdom-based Red would begin to operate in the U.S., a spokeswoman for Repairify private equity owner Kinderhook Industries said Red only operates in the U.K.

We also asked if any concerns existed with Repairify competing with itself internationally or in the U.S.

In addition to selling the asTech, which connects a vehicle to an OEM scan tool housed elsewhere, asTech provides diagnostic and calibration services. In January, the company bought Root Four Imagination, which sells the more consumer-oriented BlueDriver aftermarket scanning device. Red manufacturers the ServicePad line of scan tools.

“There are currently no concerns with competing internationally,” Emily Busskohl (BizCom Associates), wrote in an email.

“Repairify is thrilled to welcome Martin Brown from Red, who will be joining the Repairify team as Technical Director, Repairify Innovations,” Repairify President Cris Hollingsworth said in a statement. “Expanding into new markets and augmenting service offerings to better serve all customers is key to asTech’s global growth strategy. We look forward to integrating Red, a leading market expert in the United Kingdom (UK), which will enable us to further execute on that strategy across the UK, Europe, and internationally.

Repairify called Red EU its eleventh acquisition. Terms were not disclosed.

“Red is an exciting acquisition that enables asTech to further broaden its suite of global tools and solutions for customers,” Kinderhook managing director Paul Cifelli said in a statement. “With demand for ADAS repair and calibration services rising, asTech looks forward to continuing to be the solution provider of choice for customers seeking to properly repair today’s sophisticated car parc.”
