The 2024 March Taylor Kina’ole Award
“SCRS’ presentation of the March Taylor Kina’ole Award continues to honor the legacy and lessons from March Taylor, who owned Auto Body Hawaii and served on the SCRS board of directors,” according to the release.
Kina’ole is a Hawaiian term for flawlessness, in the sense of “doing the right thing, in the right way, at the right time, in the right place, to the right person, for the right reason, with the right feeling, the first time.”
“This award has been our way of recognizing those in the industry who reflect those lessons that March brought from his culture into our own,” shared SCRS Vice-Chairman Michael Bradshaw in the release. “I was never fortunate enough to meet March in person. But through the people we’ve honored, and knowing who they are and why they were chosen, it’s something that makes me feel connected to someone that had so much to share with this industry, and so much influence over our organization. I love that we recognize people for simply who they are and the principles they choose to live by, and I’m very excited to be part of passing along the recognition this year.”
The award has previously been presented to Gary Wano, Jr. (GW and Son Auto Body), Petra Schroeder (Collisionista), the late John Norris (Collision Industry Information Assistance), Toby Chess (Industry Educator), Danny Gredinberg (the Database Enhancement Gateway), and Kye Yeung (European Motor Car Works).
Seating for the ceremony is on a first-come-first-served basis. Cocktail attire is encouraged but not required.
