I-CAR took home first place in the 2024 SEMA Show’s New Product Awards for Best New Collision Repair and Refinish Product for I-CAR Academy on Tuesday.

I-CAR also received runner-up for its RTS app in the same category.

The New Product Awards competition recognizes outstanding achievements, judged in 18 award categories, with each category resulting in one winner and two runners-up. Winners are announced each year during the show’s Kickoff Breakfast.

I-CAR Academy is a comprehensive educational program including a “revolutionary” entry-level collision repair curriculum for career and technical schools as well as collision repair centers, according to I-CAR. It’s designed specifically to attract, train, and retain technicians, and recognize the schools and repair centers training new entrants, I-CAR said.

Available to schools for the 2024-25 academic year, I-CAR Academy will replace existing education edition curriculum (PDP-EE).

“I-CAR Academy is a new and revolutionary collision repair education program that bridges the gap between our trade schools and on-the-job training you would get in a collision repair center,” said Dara Goroff, I-CAR planning and industry talent programming vice president, when she accepted the award. “We think that this curriculum will help us to recruit new talent to the collision repair industry where we’re suffering a talent crisis; get that new talent trained and then help our shops to retain that talent by investing in a lifetime of learning and development.

“Someday that new talent is going to be sitting in this audience representing new products, representing new businesses, and driving the sustainability of our future.”

For Best New Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Product, Revv ADAS’ Revv ADAS Plus won. Revv ADAS wasn’t there to accept the award but a brief description of the product described it as delivering a “calibration identification solution with advanced rules engine workflow management, CCC and Mitchell integrations, and customizable service for each shop.”
