CCC announced the launch of its CCC Pay Workflow, a pay management tool for the collision repair industry, on Monday.

The tool provides technicians more visibility into how they are paid and managers with a digital way to manage and track pay-related tasks, according to a CCC press release.

“Technician retention remains a significant challenge across the industry, with pay-related stress a common source of dissatisfaction,” the release says. “Confusion about hours worked or discrepancies in pay are time-consuming and lead to friction, disrupting productivity and impacting team morale. While many shops rely on face-to-face conversations to address these issues, these processes are often informal and difficult to track.”

The collision industry differs from other industries in a few distinct ways, CCC said when asked for more details by Reparier Driven News.

“Technicians are often paid based on the number of labor hours (piece units) flagged for pay, not necessarily the time that they clock,” an emailed statement from CCC says. “Each pay period, labor hours may be flagged for pay based on the progress of the repair and/or the phase of the vehicle, so there are several factors that determine how technicians are paid.”

Technicians also often track their labor assignment progress and subsequent pay via printed paysheets, the statement says.

“Because of constant moving variables within the repair facility, technician-facing paysheets can quickly become out-of-date with what is reflected within the repair facility’s management system (CCC ONE),” the statement says.

CCC says repair facilities often reconcile paysheets with their technicians at the end of each pay period, which is time-consuming, reduces productivity, and can lead to tension.

“Other industries don’t need this reconciliation step between their employees and managers,” CCC’s statement says.

CCC Pay Workflow improves these industry-specific challenges, according to the statement.

Robert Nunez, manager of Rainbow Paint & Body Inc., located in Miami, Florida, says in the release that the tool is easy to use and straightforward.

“My techs don’t have to dig for paysheet information, it’s a tap or two and it’s done,” said Nunez. “Payroll has gotten easier for me and my techs don’t have to completely stop what they’re doing to ask questions about their pay. I’ve noticed an overall reduction in pay-related questions and an increase in mobile app adoption.”

CCC Pay Workflow integrates into tools shops already use, the release says. Technicians can view their upcoming pay sheet in real time in the CCC ONE Mobile app, flag discrepancies, and request adjustments from their phone. Managers can review, approve, and track requests through a centralized dashboard, creating consistency, clarity, and transparency across the pay process.

“CCC Pay Workflow brings together the needs of employees and managers in one simple, digital experience,” Mark Fincher, CCC vice president of product management, said in the release. “Shops are looking for ways to retain talent and reduce unnecessary disruptions. With CCC Pay Workflow, technicians can understand what they’ll be paid before payday, and managers can respond to their related requests more efficiently so everyone can stay focused on getting customers back on the road following an accident.”

CCC Pay Workflow doesn’t collect any new pay information, CCC said in a response to a question from RDN. It said it improves technician access to information that already exists in CCC One to improve the overall paysheet reconciliation flow.

“CCC ONE already allows repair facilities to track time spent on repairs, which repair facilities can use to measure efficiency,” the statement says. “CCC doesn’t and will not share this data with other parties.”
