Four parts decertified in CAPA’s May report
By onAnnouncements
CAPA decertified four parts in April, including one plastics part, two lighting parts, and a bumper part, according to their May decertified parts report.
The parts include a Toyota 4Runner bumper cover for the rear manufactured by Pro Fortune, a Hyundai Elantra headlamp manufactured by TYC Brother, a Nissan Sentra headlamp manufactured by DEPO, and a Dodge Ram bumper rear assembly manufactured by Grand HC.
Pro Fortune also had parts on the April and February decertification list. DEPO had a report on the February decertification list.
Information providers CCC and Mitchell have previously told Repairer Driven News that it is up to the parts supplier to update their systems.
When previously asked how the industry should use the part reports, if information providers receive the list and, in return, update their inventory and database, CAPA responded that it does not have insight into how recipients use the reports.
RDN also previously asked CAPA how many decertifications are allowed to occur before a manufacturer can no longer apply for certifications. CAPA didn’t answer the question directly.
“As the industry understands, no manufacturing process is flawless — even OEMs face challenges, as evidenced by weekly recall lists,” CAPA said in an email.” CAPA thoroughly investigates reported issues, addressing necessary corrections on a case-by-case basis.”
