Stellantis opens Mopar Parts Distribution Center in New York
By onAnnouncements
Stellantis recently opened Mopar Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in New York following a $64 million investment that will streamline parts distribution across the Northeast and strengthen support for dealers and customers, a press release says.
The PDC will house collision and repair parts, according to a statement to Repairer Driven News from a Mopar spokesperson. They said the PDC will also utilize its Last Mile Delivery Center and Ship to/Ship from point to support customers.
“Stellantis Parts & Services North America works closely with the dealer body to continuously assess demand and how best we can service the customer based on various market requirements,” the statement says.
According to the release, the 534,000-square-foot center in East Fishkill, New York, is stocked with more than 46,000 parts and is equipped to handle more than 2 million shipments yearly.
It is the first Stellantis U.S. PDC to implement “AutoStore,” a fully automated storage and retrieval system, which the release says can improve efficiency and reduce order wait times by turning over the stock faster.
“The AutoStore system integrates 40 robotic units that use advanced picking technology to navigate a track system above a high-density grid filled with stored parts,” the release says. “The robots retrieve necessary parts from one of 70,000 bins stacked within 18,000 square feet of space, delivering them efficiently to processing stations where PDC employees prepare final shipments. This state-of-the-art automation significantly enhances parts order completion speed, accuracy, and dependability while minimizing the warehouse footprint needed for inventory storage.
Darre Bradshaw, Mopar senior vice president for North America, says in the release that the launch of the PDC marks a significant investment in the company’s long-term growth and service capabilities.
“This facility supports our dedicated UAW-represented workforce with the tools and environment they need to succeed,” Bradshaw said in the release. “By integrating cutting-edge technology and automation, we’re strengthening our supply chain, accelerating delivery times, and reinforcing our commitment to dealer and customer satisfaction along with employee success.”
