Acura has released new body repair and vehicle technology information for the 2025 ADX.
The ADX is a new model to the Acura brand. According to a document from the OEM, the vehicles are made of high-strength steel and ultra-high-strength steel.
Based on their tensile strength in megapascals (MPa), steel parts are color-coded in the charts below, according to this key:
The tech document indicates that steel repair and welding procedures vary depending on the tensile strength of the parts involved.
Always refer to the service information and body repair manual (BRM) for complete repair information. A subscription may be purchased at American Honda’s service information website – Service Information System (SIS), with 1-day access starting as low as $30. SIS offers users expanded search capabilities as well as Tool Integration.
John Peixoto, American Honda Motor Co. parts and service marketing, told Repairer Driven News repairers should make sure to review the “Precautions for Handling Bumper” document before any repairs as well as painting precautions and considerations for the vehicle’s ADAS.
Examples in the document addressed the conventional blind spot information (BSI) radar unit inspection procedures, and differences between when the original BSI radar unit is removed and reinstalled versus when you install a new BSI radar unit.
With an R&I, you must do the BSI System Learning Value Reset, but when you install a new BSI radar unit, the learning value reset is not required.
The ADX base and A-Spec models are equipped with Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow, and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR).
The A-Spec with Advance Package includes all of the above plus a Parking Sensor System, Low-Speed Braking Function, Collision Mitigation Throttle Control, Blind Spot Information (BSI), Cross Traffic Monitor, Multi-View Camera System (MVCS), and Rear Wide Camera System.
